Tethering Cable

A tethering cable is a specialized high-speed data link that connects a digital camera directly to a computer or workstation. This hardware setup enables "tethered shooting," where images are bypassed from the camera's internal memory card and transferred instantly to professional imaging software.

Using standard consumer-grade charging cables which lack the data transfer speed or shielding required for large RAW files; failing to use cable management, leading to tripped-over equipment; and exceeding the maximum reliable length of USB cables (typically 15-30 feet) without an active extension.

Pro Tip
